Welcome! I’m very excited to be here. I love helping women find sustainable approaches to fitness that work for them as individuals: how make healthy habits so that fitness becomes part of your everyday life. Most of us know what we “should” be doing. But making it happen in the real world can be super challenging. Most fitness books and websites focus exclusively on the what of fitness: what exercises to do and how to perform them. I’m more interested in the HOW. How can we get, and stay, fit when we’re all so busy?
It isn’t easy but it’s possible. It’s possible even if you don’t have the time to work out. It’s possible even if you’ve tried and failed over and over again. It’s possible even if you’re “old” or have been overweight all your life. I’m not going to promise you that you will achieve your 20-year-old body again, but you can make big changes that will have a major impact on your life.
I don’t have all the answers but have learned a few things along the way. We are all different, so there is no one diet, exercise plan or stress-reduction technique that will work for everyone in just the same way. But this is true for us all: consistency is what builds fitness. The way to make exercise consistent is by forming a habit.
I’ll share approaches my clients, friends and I have found helpful, plus reviews of and links to relevant books and articles I find. I’d love to hear from you: What works? What doesn’t? Let’s experiment and learn together as we go.
